Thank You Secret Santa!

Yesterday after returning from the grocers I found a parcel waiting for me. As I had not ordered anything I was puzzled as to what it might be. So I opened the box up and was surprised to find it loaded with Pulpy goodness.

A Jazz Quartet!

Gangsters!!

A Native American!

Inside the box was a lovely note signed Secret Santa. Now before you all climb up my backside about opening the box before Christmas I have to tell you something. I didn't sign up for the Secret Santa this year. Therefor I was not expecting this surprise. Well, let me tell you, it floored me. Not only are the Pulp figures by Bob Murch, the undeniable King of Pulp sculpts, but they are figures that suit me perfectly.  As a Jazz drummer I am very touched by the gift of the Jazz quartet.

I would like to say a heartfelt Thank You to my Secret Santa and wish you the happiest of Christmas.

Now I've a side duel with Simon and Curt for earning the most points in Pulp. I hope the two of you realize just how much trouble you're both in right now.

    1. I've to clear the decks of a few figures then I'm going to start in on the Jazz Quartet. I'm trying to come up with a good background for them. Like the Cotton Club.

  6. I can't wait to see how you paint these figures up. That was a very lovely touch from someone to send you a Secret Santa even though you weren't taking part.

    1. It has to be someone I've sent mini's to who has my address. But that's a pretty long list and as there was no return address I'm stumped.

  8. Bah!! I only accepted your side challenge because you told me you didn't have many Pulp figures to paint. I forgot to take into account your loyal 450+ following and that they'd never let you lose. Humbug!! :-)

Some very nice models there Anne. I was close to picking up the Jazz musicians for my latest order myself so I really look forward to seeing yours painted up. The native american is a particular treat as Bob tells me its part of an entirely new range :-)

    1. Did I say I didn't have many Pulp figures? Oh snap! It appears as if I've now got plenty. \

I didn't know that was part of a new range. I'll have to find out if this is a Plains Indian or an Eastern Woodland Indian so I'll know how to paint it.

    2. That's Bob's limited edition Huron warrior only available a certain conventions. It won't be available in his general "Huron-Iroquois War" range. You've got one of a very few made. Congrats! You're Secret Santa really likes you. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

  9. The jazz quartet looks really awesome. I've never taken part in a secret santa but to get one when you aren't is a whole other level of greatness. All the figures look great and that's one nice little surprise.

    1. Jazz means the world to me as that music has sustained me through many a dark hour. Every day I spend a couple hours on the kit playing and forgetting my troubles. I even named my daughter Jazz.

    1. Hey Cat, it wasn't gift wrapped and I'd no idea what was inside. I think I made the list because Santa doesn't visit your blog so he can't have seen the horrid things I say to you :)

  24. I can't let you in on who was your Secret Santa, they can do so if they wish but I can give you a bit of background

I was contacted by one of our lot after the SS had been started and all had targets. They asked me if I would allow them to send out a present to someone who had had a bad run of luck or who could do with an extra helping of smiles. I thought about it for a bit and supplied a couple of names and they let me know who was there intended victim and so I then passed on your address.

All I can say is that both me and Cath were greatly moved about their kindness and a few tears have been shed. Enjoy your gift and Cath and me are very pleased it is giving you some smiles but all the props need going to the person with the big heart. Made me see the whole Secret Santa in an even better way :-)

  25. Now THIS is what Christmas is about. What an awesome surprise. The last time I got a Secret Santa gift, it was a $5 griddle that shorted out immediately upon plugging in.

Those are all cool figures, but I'm especially excited to see you work your magic with that quartet.
