Blastoff!!!!

The first day of the Analogue Hobbies Winter Painting Challenge has officially begun. We can now lay colour on all those miniatures that have been glaring at us from our painting tables whilst screaming "Paint me! Paint me!"

By the time you read this, I will already be chained to my painting table trying to knock out the first couple of figures. As Monday is my day to post, I have committed to having at least two figures done, photographed and up on the Painting Challenge Blogspot on time. As a slow painter this will be quite a formidable task.

We have all set goals that will push us to our limits, but I know we can do it and have a fun at the same time. My adrenaline levels are up so high I think sleep may be an elusive critter tonight.

If you are participating in the Challenge and are reading this post, I have this to say to you "What are you doing you eejit? Get OFFLINE and PAINT!"

May the paint gods be with us on this day.

    1. I would respectively ask that you do not sir. There's not a one of us who can paint half as good as yourself and you'd just up making us cry.

    2. Oh there are many that can paint as good and better, yourself especially! Though I do understand if it was about the speed of my painting.. than maybe that is best not to join ;)

    1. Nah, it will be only two and for me that's darn near miraculous. One week for a single figure is the norm for me.

      Thanks Alex!

  4. Currently waiting for paint to dry! I have 24 figures on the go and plan to finish them by Tuesday, (My publishing day). Started at 6:01 am this morning as that was when the clock ran down to zero. Just realised that I have miss painted the uniform on an officer. So may have to repaint that one! Rankers wearing white uniforms officers wearing navy blue so no way I can fudge it!

Wishing you luck. And looking forward to seeing your results. Right now back to painting for us both!

    1. Twenty-four! This is why I can't keep up with you historical painters and end up alone at the bottom of the list. And you know what? It's lonely down there.

Ya, you better go back and paint that officer. That's something Curt would catch in an instant. Now back to it Paint Monkey!

    2. Had to stop now as the light has gone and have to do faces and eyes.

Got all the base colours on the Re-painted Flag bearer. And the first highlight. So should finish him tomorrow.

As for being lonely can I offer you a Hug?
And no one EVER thinks of you as being at the bottom as QUALITY takes time.

    1. I'm only in for 500 points. You should see what those guys who paint for 1000 point and more crank out. They're are truly amazing.

  6. Painting slowly isn't a bad thing. I hope you can get the figures painted. You've always risen to the challenge though and I expect this will be no different.

    1. I'm a little faster this year than last. So even if I don't turn in an enormous amount of figures, I'll have less stress meeting my goals.

  8. Gooooo, Anne!
Unfortunately, I'm beginning the challenge looking for time! On the way to pickup my dress uniform from the tailors for the unit's party tomarrow night, then regular Fri errands, and tonight is the kids' Christmas show at church. 5 mile run Sat morn as well. I think Sun is free...maybe!? ;)

    1. Oh God no! You'll be in a bit of a scramble Sunday. But the things you've got going are more important than painting and come first. Good luck with your run on Saturday!

    1. The moon is just past going full tonight, but I think the gods will be pleased by our sacrifice none the less.

Kitty Fang loves this as she's sits on my bamboo brush mat and drinks my paint water. I shall have to send her out of doors for a few hours.

    2. LOL paint and cats don't go together :) I've just read an article about a streetcat in Bugaria who turned emerald green because she is sleeping on a sack of some kind of paint that somebody threw out somewhere.... It's all over Facebook
