30 Posts for 2014!

Yes folks, it appears as if I've reached a hallmark for my blog. Today marks an epic 30 posts for me this year.  Many of you are probably asking yourselves "How does she maintain such a blistering pace?" or "Holy Christ, she must be superhuman to crank out that many posts in a single year."

My response would be that I'm a great under achiever. No one out there can do less better than me and that's a fact.

I set out to do 50 posts or less this year and it looks like I'm going to succeed by a whopping margin. Really, why set the bar high when you can set it low and always come out feeling like a winner?

As I'll be away for the Holidays next week, I must get as much painting time in as possible lest I fall behind in the Painting Challenge. So between painting and the Holidays it looks like I'll be gone again for a while. Did you really expect me to do more than four posts in a month? Really?

I've finished painting my figure for the next Themed Entry (Mount's and Riders) so I don't have to worry about it. Also I'd like to turn in my Hasslefree Moderns before I leave next Monday.

So I'll wish you all a Happy Christmas now. For those of you who are traveling have a safe journey there and back again.

  2. 30 posts in a year? Slow down woman - we can't have you burning out on us! :)

For you, it is very much a case of quality triumphing over quantity :)

  3. Ease back, Anne! You don't want to mess up and accidentally post thirty-one times.
Have a great Christmas and happy painting!

  8. Whoa whoa whoa... you might have cranked out 30 posts.. but how many comments on top of all of those? :D Am sure we are looking at thousands of comments left to your 30 posts :)

Besides.. it is always quality over quantity right? ;)

    1. I try to give more than I receive in the comment department. For the folks who are regulars on here, I give 2 to 3 comments on their blog for every comment I get from them here. And for some folks WAY more than that. Due to the size of my blogroll, I can spend up to four hours a day commenting. Whilst I spend maybe 2 hours a month on my own blog.

  11. No sweat What's wrong with 30?. Many of my posts this year have been giving a heads up on competitions and the like (much to the relief of many). I like reading your posts, but it's better to post because you want to than because you feel you ought to.

    1. Ya, I only post when I feel like it and when I have the time. The nice thing about the gaming community is that we can do that and no one minds.

  12. Pahh! Amateur! I posted 28 times last year and that was an effort. Think I must have had a funny turn earlier this year because I've almost double my posts for 2014. Normal service assumed for 2015 hopefully ;)

    1. Oh no, someone under performed me? Okay next year I'll do less than you. How bout we set a goal of 25 and see just how far underneath that we can go.

  13. Definitely a case of sheer quality over quantity, Anne. both in your blogging and painting. Really looking forward to seeing your rider. Have a great holiday and I wish you all my best for the coming New Year :-)

    1. It's so funny that we've both chosen to do dino riders. I'm looking forward to seeing yours as well. I'm going to start one of my Gangsters today just to get a feel for Bob's sculpts. I'm only doing one in case I mess it up. Better to have only one ending up being stripped than having five.

You have a happy one as well Simon!

  15. Dahlink, this astounding increase in your blog activity has put Vatican into such frenzy and panic! We must plan out how to get on their nerves even more tonight at Shenanigans!
Will the kids be home at Christmas? Or are you going to the inlaws?

    1. Pope Francis has expressed great concern for me. And yes, we'll give His Holiness concern for my mortal soul tonight at Shenanigans! My Battalion of Nuns are on standby to do penance for me.

The Boy will be spending Christmas with his partner and his family. We'll see them after the Holiday. The Spawn is coming to the inlaws with us as her college term ends this week. The Future Son In Law has to work :(

    2. so happy to hear the Boy is happy with his partner! Have you met him in person? Do you visit them?

    3. They live in another State and it is a long drive and The Hubby can't make the trip. Ya, we've met and he's a wonderful young man. They'll drop by without warning about once a month and say "We're here, what's for dinner" And I'll send them to the kitchen and say "Whatever the two of you can whip up"

  28. Dear Anne,

what's does posts a year mean?
For me it meant thirty time the chance to come here and take part of the things you've been willing to share with us. I came here gladly and spend some time here. So to my mind there's nothing wrong with 30 posts a year.

Besides there's no need to apologise for difficult times. Sometimes real life takes over and our virtual community has to step back. That's the way the cookie crumbles.

I whish you and your whole family a merry Christmas and a happy new year! I'm looking forward to return to your blog after your break.

    All the best
    Stefan

    1. I'm hoping next year will be better for us. The Hubbies condition can change all in a day and then we have to adjust. Hopefully by the end of next year we can have the house remodeled to make it easier for him to get around. I'm eventually going to need a van with a wheelchair lift in it.

    3. Hey, Anne - Hope you get the house remodeled like you just mentioned, and hubby can move about better. Wanted to stop in and say howdy. Feels like forever since we chatted. Wishing you well.

  29. "why do today what you can put off till tomorrow?"
    - What is today, but yesterday’s tomorrow?

But afar from that ... I'd agree with Stefan, if he doesn't mind ;-D Difficult times require difficult measures and when there are only 30 posts a year, hell yeah. Thirty posts a years. That's it. I don't see a point in blaming oneself - which is the impression I got from your post. You did it the way you did, and there is noe problem with it.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year ... I've got to work by then, which is much more appealing than having time to spend some holidays. Who needs spare time? Work is all that counts! :-D

    1. I used to worry about posting so rarely, but the community here is so supportive that I've gotten more relaxed. There is something to be said about posting rarely though. It means people don't have to stop by very often and it's one less blog for them to deal with on a given day.

You have a Happy Christmas despite having to work. Some employers don't believe in their people having a real life. Live and die for the company is the motto.

  33. Hey, posting infrequently and still getting a lot of friends stopping by is what it's all about. I feel bad for those poor souls that post every single day. The very thought makes me ache all over.

Hope you have a damn good Christmas, Anne!
