Uncertain Futures

There are times when a person can be beaten so badly and so repeatedly by life that they no longer have the strength or the will to get up.  I am in such a place and have been for some time now. The world is not a fair place, and I have had more than I can bear in one life time.

I had hoped to return to blogger to participate in the Painting Challenge, but I missed deadline and now find myself in no hurry to return to blogging. Although I have painted many figures in my absence and have acquired new techniques such as painting weathered metal, object source lighting, free hand and grey scale, I feel no desire to share my work.

Perhaps I will return in a few weeks if this depression lifts, but until then I prefer to keep to myself.

Thank you,
Anne

Hopefully you 'll get over it you'll start sharing with us again.

  6. Hi Anne,

I'm deeply sorry to hear about your depressiveness. But I can fully understand that this isn't the mood for blogging.
In any case I whish you all the best! Take time to overcome this dark time. I would be happy to hear (or read) anything from you whenever you're ready to tell. I'm looking forward to this point in time.

    Best wishes

  11. Ouch. That sucks. I've been through more than my share of misery and the weight & power of the world directed at making me miserable, trying to take anything good from me, so what you describe sounds familiar. So I also know that no amount of hearing people say "i understand" or "i've been there" really helps, or even sounds real because that kind of suffering creates a feeling that leaves a person convinced no one can really understand or relate to just what they are feeling.. not really. Hopefully it will get better, and in the abstract, know that others hope it will get better for you and can relate to the burdensome slog to get to better. Keep slogging, do hope it eases for you soon.

  18. Sometimes I feel painting 'toy soldiers' seems a little trival and pointless (and especially sharing it with complete strangers online) but there are more times that I realise that painting and modelling help me to 'zone out' and forget about my problems. I'm often surprised by the generous and kindness shown by the blogging community. Hope you soon gain back that fighting spirit, Anne that we've all come to know and like.

    Regards,
    Matt

  25. Sorry to hear you're having problems. Like many others, I too have gone through depression and know what a bugger it is.

Remember there are people out here who value you and, having gone through similar things, are willing to do what we can to help.

Come back to blogging when you're ready. In the meantime, take care.

  38. Life does suck, and it's not fair. Someone needs to kick life in the balls and say, "Hey! That's enough!"

  41. I hope things turn around for you soon, Anne! As you can see with the comments, you've a legion on your side. When life kicks me in teeth, I find it soothing to say " you hit like a b****!" then I will lower my head and charge. It doesn't always work, but I find the journey better for it! ;)

  44. don't feel obliged to post anything for us. besides we may not exist at all and just be some script set up by the NSA to aid their spying...

... take everyday as it comes, stay positive and don't dwell on the bad things. life is an emotional roller coaster so this period of depression will come to an end. I hope you get well soon but at the same time I give you my best wishes that you can fight that dark cloud hanging over you. as with all of these things it's all in our heads so although it is hard all we need to do is force it out by putting positive thoughts in.
