O'Leary Cowgirl Niamh

Niamh, the baby of the family, is the posh sister and the one who has the worst temper.

The hardest part of dating this child was that she had a strict set of "rules of behavior" for a boy, but she'd never tell any of them exactly what those rules were. And those rules were subject to change without notice.

Boys would try desperately to please her and fail miserably. This one poor lad, who was as sweet as he could be, arrived 15 minutes early for a date one night. He was thinking like a sane person that arriving a bit early would show her respect and would please her. He was wrong.

Although she was dressed and ready to go, she stormed down the stairs when he arrived and proceeded to yell at him. "If I had wanted you here at quarter of eight, I would have said quarter of eight. Now get out and don't come back till eight."  The boy did just as she asked, but she didn't go out with him a second time.

None of the rest of us are quite certain if Niamh has a soul, but we don't worry too much about where she'll wind up in the afterlife. She's too mean for the devil, so God will have to take her.

This is a 25mm sculpt from Reaper Miniatures and was created by the hands of Bob Ridolfi.

Tomorrow my figure is up and right now I'm trying to decide what I don't want to tell you about myself.

    1. Tomorrow I'm posting Cowgirl Anne and with my teen years it's going to be hard to edit that thing so that people don't think I'm really mad as a hatter.

    1. That would be the figure I'm posting tomorrow. I've never been so glad to get a mini out of my hands and be done with it. And of course it would be Cowgirl Anne that drove me 'round the bend!

    1. Thank you Clint. I think she is the best one so far myself.

Yes, these are all based on us. I've got pics of all but one of us and am scrambling to get someone to email me that last one of Theresa so I can post all of us together. We all do look like our mini's.

      They are very pretty girls.

  6. She certainly sounds like one wild girl. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for cowgirls. Make her a bit of a psychopath too and I'd probably give wooing her a shot. I'd fail miserably, and would probably be shot myself, but I'd have fun.

    1. She really is mean and even I won't lock horns with her. We were all so glad that she found a man who could tolerate her and not be beaten down by her. The Spawn calls her Nia-saurus Rex.

  10. Hello my friend,

Another nice cowgirl, are you thinking about creating a scene of the Far West? I think you can, and it would be fantastic. I love your female cowgirls, they are really cute.

  13. "And those rules were subject to change without notice." Then those aren't rules, those are arbitrary, temporary emotional swings. My frustration with her personality aside, I liked the story because I know someone like that. Great job on the painting.

    1. Most of what this child did was calculated and that's what's frightening about her. She's deliberate in her meanness. You'd slap her senseless before you'd put up with her.

  16. I love this line, "She's too mean for the devil, so God will have to take her." Perfect!

Those Irish eyes sure are smilin' on this one, Anne and they are beautiful indeed! I thought she was you at first but I see I am wrong. I'll have to wait a few days. Great job on the shading. Especially on her jeans!

    1. She's so mean, the devil worships her. God I hope she never reads this post as she'll have me shot if she does. Really I love her, but at the same time, I hate her as she's so vicious to everyone.

My figure is up tomorrow and she's packing heat!

    2. ha ha ha!! Wouldn't that make for an interesting family visit next time around?

Dang! I'll be MIA for a few days so I'll miss your post. I may have the internet tomorrow night. Not sure yet. If I do, I'll be sure to check her out. I can't wait to see her! I bet she's dead sexy!

    3. She's got a pretty good rack on her I'll tell you that. No worries about not being in tomorrow. The post will still be here and when you get time, you can come by and see her.

  17. oh i can tell she is the one...she has the fire and intensity in her eyes....well done...so do the bases come like that or is that your touch...seriously they add so much....very cool anne...happy monday!

    1. The bases are just plain black and we have to add everything you see to dress them up. I'm finally starting to actually work on that part of things.

  19. LOL she's too mean for the Devil :) I must admit I don't like her temper... she's not for us Elven people but I hear the Dwarves like feisty ladies :)

Wish you gave us the phonetic pronunciation of her name too :P

    1. Sorry darling, that would be nee-iv.

She is too mean for us and let me tell you, there were times I wished she would go below ground and live with the Dwarves.

    5. She's a Thunderbird LX and has a monster of an engine under the hood. Got her up to 105 on the backroads. She rumbles and roars when you get her going.

    6. Yeehaa to that, sister! :)

  20. Pfft to her, she would be quite the pain in the ass, literally as she'd prob kick it. The cat would let his mouth run and then run away before he got shot, chewing viking fat is much more safe.

    1. The Hubby wouldn't have tolerated such behavior from me. He'd never have come back after the first time she told him off. You're better off with the Viking Woman.

  21. That's a great figure and a great story, though I can't say I'd be envious of any of those boys. With a personality like hers, I'm guessing the whole point is that if the guy's a pushover, she wouldn't want him. Like with the guy who showed 15 minutes early. I would assume the correct answer would have been him saying, "Well, I'm here, so deal with it. I'm sitting down right here" and taking a seat. But I could be wrong. That could have made her angrier, which would also be hilarious.

  22. Great job, Anne. The face is especially well done.

  23. Is she showing nipple in that last photo? LOL.

  24. Great painting on that last Anne, brilliant series of mini's at that! One critical comment though: I'd gone for a different colour shirt, it doesn't really contrast that much with her skintone and makes the figure look a bit yellowish. That said, I can't do it any better kudos!

    1. That is a good point Sander. The only reason I chose that colour was so I could try out the orange highlights in my new Citadel Edge Series paints. I know, not the best of reasons.

And thank you for the critique, I do appreciate those as they are an important part of my learning process.

  32. Superb Anne, If ever I wanted a cowgirl this would be it

  33. Very good technique, here, Anne. The shading is absolutely professional.

Your assessment is close, Andrew Leon, but they do eventually tell us about the rules change.

  34. Wonderful work, Anne! I'm loving your highlights, colors and her eye. And the story! Now I can't wait to hear the slightly edited story of Anne.

  39. Their is a girl in my Year group at school called Niamh, I have been at school with her for many years, we went to the same Primary school (I actually had a crush on her for one point but shh)

anyway your sister sounds a bit...err... dangerous, poor bloke who chooses to date her, is their a group set up to look after those who have done so, like those who have gone through other traumatic experiences? their might need to be.

anyway once more excellent painting, I imagine out of the O'Leary cowgirls Niamh is the most dangerous. oh and sometimes you have to feel sorry for the Devil, he gets all he horrible types, can you imagine having to do his job, a nightmare for sure. I guess then that if God is going to get her Hell might be a better prospect anyway I'll take your advise on what is best in that case. there is a Pizza chain in New Zealand called Hell, we can all go there.
