Glitches with Blogger

Well it's that time of year again folks. It seems as if the people at Blogger noticed that all was running smoothly and just couldn't stand it.

Lord Google himself

In an effort to make our blogging experience more comfortable, they've gone and mucked things up.  A lot of people are complaining about glitches and I wanted to let you know about my most current issue.

Since last Thursday, many blogs are not updating on my blog roll for as many as 6 to 9 hours after they have posted.  This is causing me to miss some blogs and to show up unfashionably late on others. I know other people are experiencing the same problem and I guess we'll just have to grit out teeth and bare it.

This is not so much a post as it is a Public Service Announcement, so you don't need to comment if you're busy. But if you feel the need to vent, please feel free to do so.

I'm sleeping right now as I've stayed up late putting base coats on some of my Knuckleduster figures. I'll be in later today to comment.

  1. What can you do, it's a free service at the end of the day. Some folk pay for their blogging fix and still have issues so it's not as bad as it could be.

  2. I hate it when Blogger do this. The thing that annoys me is that things are great and then they change it, I just don't get the need for changes and that's the annoying bit for me.

  3. I haven't noticed it much but I've seen a small delay. I use Google Reader though so I assumed that was the problem as there's been some slowdown on that before.

  4. I hadn't noticed much as haven't been on blogger much lately, however I notice at work that my list can sometimes not update all week.

  5. No Blogger issues her at present. I don't have a blog roll, I use other peoples as it gives me more variety and lets me find blogs I would not have found normally. It's how I found you.

  7. Blog Roll has always been glitchy, so much so that I stopped relying on it for updates. I use the Blogger home page and use the 'Reading list' to go through the blogs I follow and its so much better.

  10. That's been happening to me for over a month. A couple won't update at all. Now that the Challenge is over, I'm going to switch completely to Bloglovin' and use it exclusively and hope it updates better.

  12. I managed to post my latest post 3 times and have 12 copy's in draft I think that counts as a glitch but sorted easy. I too use the reading list on my dashboard I sort of thought every one did

  13. I've had a couple of blogs in my blogroll where posts weren't appearing for several weeks.

I have always had a glitch/bug where opening Blogger blogs switches off my internet connection.

  14. I've already lost the option to read blogs in reader view. Disappeared about a month ago.

    1. Okay, since you brought it up...just in the time since I was here I saw posts that were in my dashboard fifteen minutes ago disappear completely. Gah! I hate it when stuff like this happens.

    2. I can't use reader either and it was useful for me. I read a lot of gaming blogs that I don't comment on and it was a huge time saver. I have some coming and going as well. I just don't want people angry with me for missing a post.

  15. I haven't noticed any major issues, although I think there's been a few occasions where isolated updates have popped up late.

  17. Only seems to happen on certain blogs. So I hit the "subscribe by email" button just in case.

  18. I've had that happen on select bloggers in my blog role. I thought it was Google editorializing on the quality of said blog post, but knowing it's a glitch is frustrating.

  19. I've noticed my images take a little longer to upload - not hours though. I'm also looking forward to seeing those Knuckleduster figures you're working on. Best, Dean

  22. I was having some of these problems awhile ago as well. And, Blogger is taking some of my pictures and won't let me post them upright. Even though they've been edited and fixed proper, offline.

    Weird, weird, weird.

  23. I've actually been wanting them to make some changes. Specifically reading list management, but then I haven't gotten any glitches to complain about so I'll just wait for them to piss someone else off.
