Mariel Twinspar, Pirate Babe #3

Mariel was a saucy wench and found herself pulling taps at The Dirty Pony when she was but 16 years of age after both of her parents died from the pox.

When the publican, Fatty Arsebottom, tried get forward with her, Mariel quit the pub swearing she'd never be at the mercy of a man again.

Turning her back on The Dirty Pony Mariel boarded ship with HRH and her all female crew.

She spent the rest of her life sailing the seas, robbing and pillaging in many a foreign port. And a happy wench she was and better for it.

Mariel is 25mm, from Reaper Miniatures and was sculpted by Patrick Keith.

Well folks it's Monday and the beginning of a new week that is sure to be full of perils and pitfalls. So walk in a zig zag pattern this week to increase your odds of surviving. I  know I will.

A good start for another busy week. But after all it's bank holiday in Germany on Wednesday.

    1. You should try out Bob Ridolfi as well. He does some great babes as well. I'm going to use one of Bob's figures to do a "How to paint a babe" tutorial.

  7. Fatty Arsebottom! What a name. Only if you truly loved a man would you marry him with that name. For who would choose to be Mrs Arsebottom!

Nicely painted figure and I chuckled at the back story. A very good read.

    1. I think it's a name that conveys a picture of it's owner. I think Fatty came to a bad end at the hand of some unknown cutthroats in a dark, dank alley.

    1. Mayhaps she found love aboard the ship. One never knows what goes on when there are four women alone together at sea for months on end. One can imagine though....

  16. Well she's definitely not a little girl at the mercy of men, that's for sure. I still think an all female pirate crew would be a pretty awesome thing to see.

  17. She looks great and the pictures look good. Is she still recruiting crew members?

  18. Not the mst practical outfit for pirating but I don't think anyone is complaining.

  22. 25mm is so very small, Annzie, I really don't know how you painters do it.
I like Mariel's name although I do not approve of her pillaging ways... it doesn't make her any different than all the naughty men she tried to escape from... Tell me she pillages and steals only from evil pirates and buccaneers :)

    1. She pillages only from the cruel aristocrats that mistreat the poor and who overtax the working to fund silly wars. She is a force for good in an evil world!

    2. and HRH claws the bums of their aristocratic doggies who feast on fresh liver while other village pups have to eat porridge :)

  32. I'd say that I wouldn't mind spending some time with Mariel but maybe I'd be quick to regret that if I rubbed her up the wrong way haha!

  33. Well, we should actually thank Mr. Arsebottom - if not for his over-reaching, the World would never have seen Mariel at her best! Beautiful painting as always, Anne. And the storyline is and added bonus. Best, Dean

    1. I just started custom making my own backgrounds using Art Rage and Photoshop. I'll be test photographing a bunch of figures against each one to see what does and doesn't work. I'll do a post on them when I get the work done.

  42. she be a very beautiful girl. at least she got away and lived her dreams. that's more than fatty could do, I am sure he came to a bad end, cut-throat you say??? I don't think such a man deserves to come to such an end, nay he should get far worse for messing with a girl like that.

great Work Anne. she's very well painted.

  43. My truer inner male wants to comment nothing other than "I'd hit it", but knowing this is a much more professional space that also shares professional space of my own, I'll settle with she looks great and I look forward to certain things you've mentioned on the comments.
