Lord Ray Himself

Every inch the aristocrat, Lord Ray enjoyed nothing more than looking down his nose at the people around him.
"They all wish they were me" he thought to himself at least one hundred times a day.

The only other thought that could compete with that one was "Oh yeah baby, you know you want some of this" And then he'd sneer in a way he believed to be quite sexy.

Yes, it seemed as if Lord Ray was the master of his own tiny world.

This is a 30mm figure from Dark Sword Miniatures and was sculpted by Jeff Grace. This figure is from the George RR Martin Masterwork Series and is actually a figure of Theon Greyjoy from A Game Of Thrones. This series of sculpts has nothing to do with the television show, but is based entirely on Martins vision of the characters.

I know, I know this is an awfully nice sculpt to be wasting on Rousell. Just remember that the next time the little weasel insults me.

Okay folks this makes 6 posts in a row for me and that means I'm going to disappear from Bloggerland for a while.  I'll be commenting today, but don't expect to see me around again until March 4th or 5th.

Have a great week everyone. I know I will.

    2. I am glad you like him Ray, just wait until you see baby Ray's Wet Nurse. Let's just say you were a well fed little bugger.

@Fran-well, when you can't get it anywhere else, you have to get it where you can. He disgusts me..

    3. great figure Anne and when he does insult you I'll be here with the crowbar waiting for the crate... forget water boarding when there is the water slide.

    4. I'll try to remember to put a few sandwiches in the crate before we ship him. Don't want him arriving dead!

    5. no certainly do not let him die. this is mealy punishment and besides its so long that at the end after being so scared that he's ruined his pants he'll be laughing.

once again great work and Ray really should love how you used your artistic licence to reduce the girth of the figure.

Lovely painting Anne but it doesn't look a bit like the real life Ray - far too handsome!

  10. Far too dashing for Ray, you need to feed him more bacon butties.

Lovely painting however Anne. Good show!

  11. Great work. But if based on Mr Rossell can I suggest adding a touch of green stuff around the midriff? When I say a touch, I mean half the pack.

  13. Wow to be a master of that little plot of land must take some kind of skill, thing of all the lawn mowing.

  14. Thanks for including the reality shot at the end - keeps Ray humble. Excellent job, Anne!

  17. A+ work there Anne, the colors are very striking and lots of detail was brought out on the figure.

  18. This figure is really well done. Good paintjob, Anne!

But to be honest it doesn't represent that evil grin of Ray's...
    ;-)

  20. Clearly, Lord Ray is the male ego personified, LOL!

  21. Wow, the detail on that is fantastic. Well done.

  22. A series of sculpts based on how the author sees it, and not the TV show? That's very cool. We need more of that.

The figure looks great. And I'd recognize that smirk anywhere. Very Ray.

    Enjoy your blogcation!

  24. Have a nice break! I hope you get some good painting in.
That's a nice piece, but, actually, I'm most impressed with the grass on the base. What did you use for that? I've never gone in for that much detail on my bases, but I've kind of wanted to.

  25. Great figure very well done. Whilst the camera may add a few pounds, seems the painted figure takes off about 20 stone ;-)

  26. That's a fantastic paintjob. I'm tempted to create a Lord Ray figure myself now - although I may need to fill him out a bit with some Greenstuff ;)

    Regards,
    Matt

  27. Ray seems a bit full of pride! Hand him over to Sinquiry and let the sins have a go at him!

And at one point do you say "Okay, I can't get any better than this!" because you continue to get better with each figure you paint! Well done, my friend!

  28. 6 posts? Wow don't go straining yourself LOL walked into that

Poor Ray, so cocky yet he takes up most of his land with his posing, pailing compared to the cat god of Canada.

  29. Great work Anne, is this a replica of Ray on the Slim Fast pre bacon butty era

  30. Gorgeous work on a stunning miniature, but is it perhaps a little on the slender side? ;)

  35. I think you may have done way to good a job there Anne! Very nice, and apparently from the comments Ray is delighted. Perhaps to delighted.

I do see that the highlights on your bow have gone a little chalky. If you run a nice red-brown glaze over the bow that will get rid of the chalkiness and give the bow a nice rich wood color.

  36. Thanks for the LOL! Another fine vignette from Anne's Garden Miniatures. Well done!

  37. Ray looks awesome here Anne, great figure. Don't feel bad about Robyn by the way, she comments quite rarely on my blog but she's still a seriously awesome and kind lady who writes a brilliant blog.

  38. Very well done Anne!! You be sure to remind Ray of your incredible awesomeness the next time he says something!! Which shouldn't take too long!!

  39. A hit beneath the belt, but you painted it so nicely Anne! :)

  40. Ray is a lucky man to have such a nice fig dedicated to him! I did get quite a laugh from the story. Enjoy your break!

  41. Very nice mini Anne. And nice setting too, well done.

  42. Daaaaamn Anne! You made Ray all handsome and cocky looking! One out of two isn't so bad, right? Hehe

  43. Anne, I'm surprised by your comment. I make it a point to comment whenever anyone comments on my posts. I've added you to my blog roll (That's a HUGE honor, because I'm following well over 300 blogs). I've dropped by whenever you've had a new post HERE (but not your other blogs - I think you have others), which isn't as often as my blog posts. Reciprocity is very important to me. I'm confused and a bit disheartened by your public comment....? You're welcome to email me, Rawknrobyn@aol.com.
