Do you want to see me cry? Of course you don't.
All you have to do to help me is Like Darwin Games Facebook page. And if you have the time, you can leave a comment with them that says "Anne O'Leary sent me"
And what will I win you ask?
Five figures from the Floris Tribe is what I can win. And doesn't this look like something that belongs in my collection? Of course it does.
The game consists of 5 tribes and this one is from the Hydris Tribe. This one runs a close second for me behind the Floris Tribe. If you'd like to see all five tribes you can click on the link HERE
So why the give away? Darwin Games is preparing to launch it's first boardgame "Dawn-Rise of the Occulites" via a KickStarter later this month. This game is unique because it is based on the rules of Natural Selection as defined by Charles Darwin. Read this brief summary written by the owner, designer and sculptor of Darwin Games, Ben Boersma:
The first game in the series “Dawn – Rise of the Occulites” is a
miniatures boardgame. It is set in a time when the Occulite civilisation
is just forming. Occulites travel from cave to cave in small tribes.
Daily life is tough, with Sungems and territory being vital to a tribe’s
ability to survive. The game features objective based skirmish gameplay
and sees you steer your tribe through a fully customisable campaign,
but pick up and play scenarios are also on offer. Dawn uses an
innovative card based action resolution system called ‘The Natural
Selection Deck’ that is easy to use but forces relevant and important
decisions to be made. (Source)
So help me help Ben by visiting him at Facebook , Liking his page and checking out what he has to offer.

Best of luck to you! Hope you win!
ReplyDeleteMe too, this is really a neat game with some groovy figures.
DeleteDon't want you to cry Anne! Hope you do win some free lead!
ReplyDeleteI'm utterly broke and the only way to grow my lead mountain is by winning free swag! I'm thinking of having a Mass said on my behalf :)
DeleteFantastic and imaginative! Good luck!
ReplyDeletePhil.
I really hope this guys KickStarter gets off the ground. This is a really unique game and it deserves to be funded.
DeleteThose figures do look like something we'd spy in your collection. The concept of the game they belong to sounds interesting and quite unique. At least, I don't think I've ever heard of anything like it.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like this out there and this guy Ben has been developing it for about three years now. He's a primary school teacher who runs his company and does the sculpts all by himself.
DeleteAll in. Done and done.
ReplyDeleteI saw your Like and your comment Mel. Thank you!!!!
DeleteDone and done, it would keep me awake all night knowing I made you cry.
ReplyDeleteThank you Paul. If I don't win, I'll be gutted!
DeleteThese creatures look like they might give a Chicazoid a run for its money! Hope you win some of the little devils. "If it's free it's for me."
ReplyDeleteThey would fit perfectly in your scenarios Jay. Even if I don't win, I'm getting in on the KickStarter and will do a story around the figures based on the premise of the game.
DeleteNice min , and great paint as always Anne
ReplyDeleteCheers
Thank you Vincent!
DeleteAwww how can I say no to those pleading eyes? Oh, wait, I don't have a Facebook account! But I am absolutely pulling for you.
ReplyDeleteI knew a lot of people wouldn't have a FB, but I have already gotten 15 people to like the page. One more and Ben gets the 100 Likes he was looking for!
DeleteThey are great, fun figures there and for some reason your name is all over the facebook page, lol. Hope you win
ReplyDeleteI know, I saw it. It's fantastic. This poor guy has never encountered a determined Irishwoman before!
DeleteDone and done.. best of luck with it though! I like the models but am not in love with them as much as others ;) So hope you win this and get to add them to your collection!
ReplyDeleteI heard about these from The Laughing Ferret last year and have wanted some ever since, I just couldn't afford them. The KickStarter will enable me to get at least one tribe and hopefully I'll win this contest too!
DeleteI'm so sorry but I'm not on Facebook!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's okay, I'm fairly certain that my efforts will have Bens page at over 100 by the end of the day!
DeleteIs ok for Facebook Anne no problem ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! The page is at 102 and the goal was 100!!!! My wonderful blogger friends just helped out a great company!
DeleteHope you win. Wish I could help but I am anti-facebook, never will have an account there.
ReplyDeleteThat's okay, the page is now at 102 Likes and Ben has reached his goal. I really would like to get him to the next goal of 150 by tomorrow though!
DeleteI feel like a durty spammer there but all done! Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteIt's not spamming, they are asking for Likes as part of the contest. Thank You so much!!!
Deleteresistance is futile!
DeleteHi Anne,
ReplyDeletegreat idea but I'm not on facebook. Sorry, that I can't help.
Good luck anyway!
Monty
That's okay Monty. Cross your fingers and toes for me!
DeleteThey do look grand, the cat would chew off their neck though, wonder if they taste like chicken? haha
ReplyDeleteAnd after a begging that came due, I will go and vote too, with crap facebook.
Thank you Cat and for the comment you left them as well. Begging-pfft. How many of your books have I reviewed now? That's right-all of them!
Deletehahaha yes that is true, but not the one that is new, so tech only 7 haha
DeleteI would like to help you too dear but I don't have a FB under this blog/name ~
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you ~
Good luck! I hope you get the lead!
ReplyDeleteI just stopped in to say that I love you, I just stopped in to say that I care. ;)
ReplyDeleteI like.
ReplyDeleteI'm not on Facebook either, but it sounds like you've mobilized your army already, so I'm expecting to see these miniatures in your possession soon. :)
ReplyDeletekeeping fingers crossed that you win these brothers and sisters of your bushwoolies, Annzie! I liked the page and your comments there, but I don't know how they will know whom you sent there or not?
ReplyDeleteMy Facebook will show how many of my friends liked it and Ben has a link to this post. Also loads of people put Anne O'Leary sent me, in the comments on the page. So far I got 27 people to Like the page. Huzzah!!
DeleteLiked and left a comment - hope you get some of them Occulites! :)
ReplyDeleteMe too, I've wanted these since The Laughing Ferret painted some up last year. Just can't afford the shipping and the surcharge from Australia.

ReplyDeleteRegards
Bruno
Thank you so much my friend!
DeleteI did my bit.
ReplyDeleteDone. No gentleman would want to see you cry.
ReplyDeleteMy wife does a similar extortion tactic called "The Mouse Face" - it never fails to make me cave.
Good luck to you and the Occulites.
Thank you Michael. I do a lip pout on the Hubby! Works every time :)
DeleteAnd another one to suport you, good luck!

ReplyDeleteFingers and toes crossed Ray!
DeleteThese look just up your street, wonderfully original and a joy to paint, best of luck Anne.
ReplyDeleteI saw them for the first time almost a year ago on The Laughing Ferrets page and have wanted them ever since.
DeleteSounds like a pretty neat concept for a board game! It's nice to see the genre is making a comeback. Hopefully it'll bring people together again.
ReplyDeleteAlso, sorry, don't have a Facebook, so can't do much for you. ):
Another post I've missed ! grrr....
ReplyDeleteI can't help you Anne because I don't have any Facebook account but I will ask to my daughter, Promise!
I hope that you will win this give-away... even if the Darwin's Theory of the Evolution seems to be a little update. But no matter, Darwin is fun!
... I forgot: please could you mail me, I have a (decent !) proposition for you?
DeleteOf course I will Samwise!
DeleteDone my good woman.......
