Meet The Cast

Today I'm going to introduce the cast for my story The Wyrm Of Connemara. For those of you who don't know, Wyrm is another word for dragon.  The story takes place in Ireland, Canada and in another dimension. The story has nothing to do with the classical Irish myths and despite there being a dragon in Connemara, it has nothing to do with Saint Patrick.

The majority of the characters in the story are being played by bloggers. Without further ado, let's meet those brave souls.

In Alphabetical Order

Angry- Fran The Dragon Slayer, Wildling Warrior.
Dan- Irish Pub Owner, general miscreant and trouble maker.
Debra- Sexy, Saucy Female Pirate Cat.
Dez The Hollywood Spy-Top Secret.
Elsie- Elfin Princess and Possessor Of Great Magic
Ian- The Man Who Knows No Fear.
Jay-Lifelong Friend to Fran The Dragonslayer
Kris- The Sheriff and the Lone Voice of the Law in the Wild Outposts of Canada.
The Laughing Ferret- Top Secret
Melanie- Seer Of Ireland
Michael Awdry- Noble Knight and Long Suffering Companion to Lord Ray
The Sainted Mrs. Awdry- Wife to Sir Michael.
Pat- The Cat God Orlin and Eternal King of Canada
Ray- Lord Ray, Keeper Of  The Wyrm
Tamisin- Noble Knight and Even Longer Suffering Companion to Lord  Ray
Thanos- Legendary Blacksmith and Forger of Magical Blades.
ME- An Undead Warrior.

There are some characters that can't be played by other bloggers such as sexy females that are "companions" for some of the male characters-No way, no how!

There's also a Wolf, a Mouse Knight, a Goblin Standard Bearer, a Very Angry Female Cook and even a Guard of Lord Ray's Privy.  There might be a few Orcs and of course there is the Dragon.

And there's terrain to build for all of this and that's a lot because many of these characters will appear in more than one scene as this is a whole story.  In order to get the next couple of installments ready to post, I'm going to have to take at least a week off blogger.

Well folks, it's Wednesday and Wednesday's are just shite, so let's pretend it's Friday and have a good time. I know I will.

    1. Well Ian, your character has a bit of travelling about to do and you'll encounter some "things"!

Tell your wife Happy Birthday from me. I hope everything turns out okay for you today!

    2. Have done so and she says thanks. Not as bad as expected. Went for a meeting with the job centre to consider what they can do to help me with my 'disability' and get me back into work. Seems whilst I will be processed he does not think they will do anything for me for the time being. But has told me where I have been told no help would be forthcomming I may be able to get some financial help. At the moment we are expected to live and pay a mortgage on £106 a week for 4 of us. So yes a better day than expected

    3. I hope you do find some financial help. There's no way to live properly on the income you have and there are young children at home. The world has gone mad when we decide as a society that people are expendable. It used to be different, we used to care. Much less of that all around the globe these days.

  4. I hate using this word and really don't like to use it unless it's for something fitting but I can't help it this time, this is going to be EPIC! I knew the minute you said that it was going to be based in Ireland AND CANADA that Pat would be featuring heavily haha, I really can't wait to see how awesome this story turns out!

  5. Oooh, oooh, oooh - can I have a sexy female "companion" please Anne? Please? Please? Please? *grin*

I notice a couple of "Top Secret" characters. Is this story a crossover with the spoof film from the 80s starring Val Kilmer? ;)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Of course you can Tamisin! How many would you like :)

Val was kinda cute in the 80's if I remember correctly. There's going to be a few things that are drawn from existing literary and not so literary works!

  6. Well this is a rather large undertaking but I'm sure it's going to be worth it :) I absolutely love dragons so I hope that one day I'll read a story where the dragon wins.

    1. When I can afford the dragon that I really want, the dragon will definitely win! The one I want is a gorgeous sculpt, very expensive and very difficult to paint. That one will come next year.

    2. Hahaha Ferret. His cook is Polish and she's only got one mole, but there's a hair growing out of it!

But I've given him a sexy Mistress to play with as well!

    1. Thank you Styx! I'm already buying up the figures for the story that comes after this one!

  15. A god and a king has a nice ring, see deep down you know no one can stop my rhyming flow. So the cat as a god will steal the show or at least live on while every one else is dead and gone, buried down below. For you can't kill a god, unless you have ambrosa or that hind's blood stuff or they are fake, which the cat is not and all will drown in a lake.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Two characters will die in the telling of this tale, but the Cat isn't one of them. The world cannot be deprived of your bum Cat or your poo or your probes!!

    2. What I'm an alien now with the probing? Figures, all gods were aliens anyway haha

    2. He was'nt in America in that episode. Did you ever see that one? It was funny. His dragon had a cold and would sneeze fire.

  17. oooh, Elsie has such a lovely title in the story! And me is all Top Secret.... I bet me is the everpresent energy that gives Elsie the special powers and magic LOL And I bet Debs and Mel will have award winning roles in the story

    3. Without you darling, the tale will have no end and evil will be allowed to return to walk the earth.

There is a price for all things Elsie for the magic you use is great indeed and even the gods must bow before you!

    4. Never, we would never let the evil lurk the world, never!

  18. This sounds very exciting, although I don't think I want to be anywhere near Lord Ray's privy. If I'm the lone voice in the wilderness of Canada will anyone be able to hear me?

  20. Very very interesting. I'm curious to see where this goes. Did you call Canada "another dimension"? They're probably too polite to correct you, but Canada is an actual place...oh, sorry, just re-read that sentence, I missed the "and" part of it. Whoopsie diddle.

  21. Possessor of Great Magic! Awesome! As soon as I read this, Prince's song (yeah, my mind went there, so what!) "Baby I'm a Star" started playing in my head =)

I love the cast you chose and I can't wait to read the story. I'm so excited, do we get to share your story on our blogs? I hope so, this is so exciting! I know, I said that already, I'm excited.

Seriously, you picked a great group of bloggers. I'll have to check out the other bloggers I don't know. This is going to be fun, Anne, with your writing, I can't wait to see what you have in store for us.

side note - I emailed you but my gmail is giving me a fit so after running errands I have to take a look at it and see what's wrong with it. I can receive email but not send it.

You're character has to expend a lot of energy to get the job done. I really wish I had a hot Elfin male of the right scale for you to play with!

  22. You had taken this blog to whole new level, as a mythology freak myself I am deeply sold by this cast. All the best Anne, this is new, creative and imaginative.
However the word cat and king doesn't go together and I can't stop the steam and ringing in my ears. Cat, all stars have already lined up for you.
    Elsie -elf princess sounds sexy.

    1. It galled me to have to make the Cat a god, but the story demanded it. I'll never hear the end of his crowing now!

I've thrown in elements from Greek theatre, fantasy, myth and modern Sci-Fi. It's quite an amalgam of things.

      Delete
    2. this cat cant meaow I knew that but to put up with his crow, I will take 4 more gross picture posts of his.

You have all top 5 favorite items in my list. Cant wait long to read the story. Great job Anne, you are sure a wonder woman.

    3. Oh I will remember that, and now I have the go ahead to crow and to put 4 more gross pictures posts up at my mat. Or at least one of the two, but both I will do...

  28. wow a story, looks like a laugh. you've also got a great list of characters, Just wondering if it is set over different countries and dimensions does that mean that the characters also travel between them or are they just in one??? hate to think that poor Canada would have to suffer you know who arriving on their shores.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Some of the characters do go between countries and dimensions. Oh Gowan, you've got to get over your fear of the Irish. We're quite content to have only our own land and don't have a history of taking the land of others. There's too much fun to be had at home singing, dancing and drinking!

      Delete
    2. I am not afraid on the Irish, you know who refers to Ray, he has already affected the poor irish but does Canada have to suffer the insufferable Ray Rousel? I talked about my history teacher before... actually she and I get on really well, ok she is not Irish true and blue but is proud of her ancestary and only brought up Cromwell to get the class to stare at me... she is really funny, and her mouth is incapible of not making a profanity every second sentance if not every second word. Made lent funnny, she said that for lent she would go without swaering... that lasted around 13 hours.

      Delete
    3. Canada does indeed have to suffer Ray!! I don't know how they'll survive it. I've never tried to give up swearing for Lent as it's the one thing I couldn't do. Thirteen hours is longer than I could last!

  29. Anne, I love this idea!!! I can't wait for this story to unfold. It's going to be fun to read your creativity and see how it connects to the blogging world. Just reading about the book made me smile!

It reminds a little of the tale of the Lambton Worm (or Wyrm), from my roots back in the North East of England...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There's a lot of figures to paint and lots of terrain.

It's got some elements in common with that tale, but the origins of the wyrm differ quite a bit. As with most legendary stories, it has standard common elements.

      Thank you Scott!
