Free Figures From Foundry

No, I'm not giving away free miniatures! (sorry). Foundry is such a nice company that when I ordered my Orcling Outriders (baby orcs riding on dinosaurs), they sent me two free figures.

The free figures are the big Orc holding the cleaver and in the box is an Orc Musician. These are not cheap figures either, these are really nice solid sculpts.  Apparently they used to send free one-off figures done by novices with every phone order. Maybe they are going to continue with that tradition. If so, it's all to the good for us!

Many thanks to the people at Foundry for helping me grow my Lead Mountain.

In other news, I've been promoted to Sergeant on Benno's Figures  Forum!!  I'm going to be posting my first 15mm Essex horse over there later today. We'll see what people think. I'll post it here on Wednesday and compare reactions.

Have a happy Saturday. I know I will.

  3. Nice that they gave you the free figures, but aren't Foundry a bit expensive in the first place?

    1. They are pricey but the sculpts are so unique and so well done that it's worth the money. Plus the company is family owned and is a staple in the business. I really love them!

  5. Sergeant Anne. That has a nice ring to it. I've seen baby orcs, they are proof that anything is cute in it's baby form. Even better if they're riding on dinosaurs. It's pretty awesome of them to send you some free figures too. That lead mountain is growing and growing.

    3. Thanks Ray. It's been overcast so I had to do it indoors. I'll take the pics outside for when I post on Wednesday here (that's if I get a sunny day!!)

    1. The best free figure I've gotten so far came from the sculptor Tom Meier. It's not been released for sale yet and I'll treasure that sculpt forever!

  13. Can't beat free, that is the way to be. The cat is nice too though, he'll send free pringle cans of poo and fleas to your show. And he does look like one bad ass orc, ready to attack and surely cause flack.

  15. Very cool. I love when companies do that. Hydra Miniatures did that for me on my last order, but they are a preview of a new line, and I am not allowed to show them. Maybe Foundry thought baby orcs shouldn't travel alone, they needed an adult to make sure they were safe

    1. I'm busy envying you that Ferret! Hydra is well aware of who you are though, right now I'm still slug slime!

The babies do need supervision as there is a group of them drunk and I'm going to buy those. Orc's don't make great parents it seems!

  16. I love when companies do that, it's so rare! I love even more that they are family owned. I ordered something from Amazon once and she enclosed an extra piece to the order along with a handwritten note of thanks - that was so sweet to me.

Do we have to call you sergeant now? LOL I may have to wander over to that forum and lurk, just to see what you're up to over there, my dear friend...

    1. generals are above sergeants, so I'm guessing Annzie won't like you calling her that :PPP

    2. I'm not up to much over there as I don't and won't fit in! It's not a place where I'll ever be accepted, but I can learn nevertheless.

She can call me Sergeant as one day I'll be equal in rank!!!

  17. I love freebies...happy to see that this made your day ~

My son got an unexpected freebie when the company shipped him Xbox, not with his ordered games, but with game console. Since it was their fault, they didn't asked him to return it..ha..ha..

    Happy Saturday ~

    1. The small, independent companies are the best for getting figures from. They go the extra mile and stay in business because they do great work and have good reputations.

  18. Free is for me! I like Foundry figures. I've never purchased one which I didn't like. And they paint up really well.

Your horse is probably a winner.

    1. I have come to love Foundry as well. I'd like to get their whole Victoriana collection eventually. So much character in their sculpts.

The boys at the forum failed to be impressed with it Jay. It's back to the painting table for my first horse!

  19. Always nice to get a bonus with your purchase :) Glad you're ranking up!
