She's Leaving Home....

And the rest of the line goes....bye, bye.  I'm leaving to go home tomorrow and I'm not sure exactly when I'll be back.  I've left that bit open ended, but certainly no earlier than the April 11th nor later than April 16th.

After listening to the music the Hubby and I recorded early in our relationship I thought about how difficult I made it for him to allow me to catch him. While thinking about that, I composed a verse for the Hubby about the vagaries of dating an Irish woman.

An Irish Woman

Enameled skinned
she sits,
a promise on your bed
glowing.

And with hands
delicate
she cups you there
and breathes you
into life.

Oooh, but she
can bite
with sweet delight,
the tables turned,
the upper hand
she wields.

Then,
fingers tipped
in time
she weaves a spell
upon a brow,
worried, wearied, worn.

The taste of mischief
on her lips,
with cunning ways
she plays.

A tongue quick
to dare, to share,
to please, to tease
she dances
out of reach.

                                                                           O'Leary, Anne 04-03-12

I'll be in off and on today to visit blogs and to reply to comments.

  3. To my way thinking these would be really good memories to hang on to at a time like this.

    1. Thank you Kris, just don't burn the place down while I'm gone! And keep working on those shields. Paint, man, paint!

    2. Oh, so a bonfire in the living room is right out then. I guess the fireplace will do. I'll follow up with more pics of the shields as they progress, just have to decide at what stage that will get done. Probably after they are mounted on the horses.

  10. How is possible that some of the strongest relationships are the ones in which one or both people were not really interested in a relationship?

    Have a wonderful trip.

  28. When I saw "She's Leaving Home" I immediately thought of the Beatles song. It is one of my favorites (along with "I Am the Walrus," but that's a decidedly different type of ditty.)
    Safe travels.
