Wish You Were Here

Although I am cutting back on blogging, sometimes there are things that just have to be said.  This is a special post for my dear friend, Steve.

After our brief chat on Friday, I was reminded once again, of how very much I miss you. I miss our conversions both silly and serious, the way you got me through dreary days, the way you helped me find things inside myself that I didn't know were there and the way you made me laugh.

I miss you dear one.

I remember our conversation, one that occurred in the wee hours about Floyd. You were up writing and I couldn't sleep and we hopscotched from one topic to another.

To champagne and strawberries in Soho.
From your little morning glory, Anne

  4. Now your post reminds me of a dear friend of mine as well. And Pink Floyd always seems to get me to a mellow, yet slightly depressing mood. Yet, it leaves me craving for more. Ah well, thanks to you, I think Im gonna spend the rest of my day with pink floyd.

    1. Between hubby's illness and the difference in timezones I've not had time to talk to the people that really matter to me. I miss easy conversations with someone who is so like me.

    1. That's okay, he's seen it and doesn't mind a bit. And since he's a playwright and has written me into a play and didn't change my name, I owe him something public!!!

  14. Fuck, I hate to talk about myself Anne but I feel pretty moved, like properly moved reading this. I miss my friend Ryan so much, miss the 12 hour long wrecking sessions just discussing everything and anything, I miss it so damn much.

This is my favourite Floyd song ever, "Did you exchange a walk on part in a war for a lead role in a cage," is so poignant, kills me.

  17. I love me some floyd...and good friends with whom you can talk to about anything. A lot of people take these friends for granted. Glad you appreciate them...I would think less of you if you didn't!

    1. Gilmore wrote Learning to Fly. He's a pilot and does shows now and again. I loved that album as Roger Waters wasn't on it. Rogers lost the law suit and Gilmore now owns the rights to the name Pink Floyd. Rogers is a real twat!!
