Jesus Christ, but I'm burned out. I'm so feckin' burned out, I'm crispy fried. It's not like I've run out of idea, I'm just to lazy right now to bother to execute them. And there's only one cure for this kind of potentially hazardous situation. And that's to stay the feck off of Blogger for a little while.
So this is what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna beat the living hell out of my drums until Wednesday.
Who knows, I may crawl up inside my bass and live there for the next few days. For fucks sake, I'm only 5'1" and my bass is 26", I think I can do it. I thought I was 5'2" but it seems I've shrunk recently....
I'll be playing with the Hubby today (music ya filthy minded gobshites. If I'd have meant shagging, I'd have said shagging). But I'll be around later today to comment. As for Monday and Tuesday, who the hell knows....
Sometimes you just have to have a break from it all, you'll feel a lot better after you climb back outs that bass, I'd advise a bottle of Jack, that might help!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't drink so I can't advice a bottle of Jack, but I can offer you a nice cup of tea with some scones. Either with chocolate chip or strawberries. Both are yummy.
DeleteIf you're burned out then yeah a few days off is just what you need. Here's hoping you come back better than ever.
ReplyDeleteTake all the time you need sweet lady.
ReplyDeleteBetter to take a short break before you start hating.
Will be here when you get back
Hugs for you
Hello Anne, take the time you need. This is not a business where you have to do, independant whether you feel okay or not. Maybe the burn out is an answer of your question/post "Am I just a number?". I think often about this post. With the best wishes for you...
ReplyDeleteRegards
Lonewolf
When I read the title Anne I was gonna say exactly what you've basically said here. Your advice and encouragement in your comments is probably my favourite from anybody on here, one of the things that really helps me but at the same time it isn't worth it, it isn't worth keeping on going if you're so burned out from being around here.
ReplyDeleteAnd in no way am I telling you what to do here Anne but I think by a Blogger break you should be taking a full one, you know where you just stay away from reading, commenting and posting, just everything or else you're not really going to fully benefit from a break if that makes sense. The only way you'll stop yourself from being burned out is to take a break away from all of this. But yeah, it sucks you're gonna go for a while but if I was going through what you were, I'd go for a while too. Hope things are okay.
Take all the time you need. You will be missed while you are gone. I hope this isn't a goodbye for good but if that is what you must do then so be it. We understand.
ReplyDeleteWe look forward to your return! Take your time though!
We've all been there.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, Anne. A break is helpful. I hope you enjoy the music and are able to return recharge and rarin to go.
ReplyDeleteBurnout is an evil fecker! I hope you have a nice relaxig rest, you deserve it!
ReplyDeleteOMG, you're just the cutest little thing! 5'1" girls ROCK!!! I'm 5'5", but not nearly as cool! Love you, Anne! :)
Feel better, Anne. We'll be here when you get back.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a drum to hide in sadly so when I get burnt out I normally just fall over and stay there for a day or two.
ReplyDeleteHope you recover soon :D

I'm a petite chick too - I'm 5'2"...
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting us know that you are taking a break for a few days. For my own selfish reasons I say that because I would have worried about you not being around. Also, because I would have been concerned about your husband. So, I appreciate you sharing that with us in your blogging world.
We may have never met IRL but I consider you a friend. Please take the time you need and come back to blogging when the feeling calls. It has to be something you enjoy not something you feel you have to do to please other people.
I will miss you! I will miss your poems and your pictures and your songs, if only for a short while, but I'd much rather have you be happy in your heart.
Take care and hope to see you soon!!

1.hope the drums are in the basement, or at least in some room opened to the neighbours (the evil ones)
ReplyDelete2. I reckon "you filthy minds" means me :)
3. Jesus would be so proud of you for putting him so close to the word "feck" in the post ;PPPP
4. I agree it's better going Animal than Miss Piggy when stress strikes :)
Totally understand. Sometimes you just gotta back away from the computer (or certain websites at least) and get some air. Or whiskey. Whiskey's good. lol.
ReplyDeleteDrums are great for stress relief. I wish I'd stuck with 'em in 5th grade, but I gave in to being 'popular' ... long story. So I just put on my headphones and blast my angry punk/emo/goth music. At 3:30 a.m. And then I feel better :D
Don't stay away too long (unless ya need to) we'll miss you!
A blogger break sometimes one does need. After all many don't have a cat to cover for them when they want a break..lol...so beat the hell out of those drums day in and day out until you are once more ready to shout. Also my mind never goes to the gutter here, for you always say it anyway, no need..hahahaha
ReplyDeleteBreaks are fun. Break free, get yourself unlazy and hopefully, enjoy your time while you do! :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the break.
ReplyDeleteKick back, open the tequila, chase the worm, play music louder than the pain threshhold and sing filthy words to it.
I know I will.
Cheers!

We'll be here when you come back!
ReplyDeleteTake a break! This can get to be tiresome sometimes. Luckily, I was inspired to write about several topics this past weekend. I'll probably get to them some time toward the end of the week. In the meantime, I'll write some quick "puff pieces." While they won't be about my trip to Chicago, they're still hilarious. Or whatever you want to call the hideous crap I write. Enjoy the bass.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I get burned out on it too. Cute woman you are, that to be sure.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way sometimes! Never fun
ReplyDeleteAww, you're entitled to a blogger break! But, I want to see a picture of you in the actual bass. As a fellow five footer, I think you can do it. hahaha :) Feel better!
ReplyDeleteOh, okay *makes okay guy face*.
ReplyDeleteoh anne...i feel your pain. i want you to know that i have been reading your posts AND going back and reading some older posts, and my heart just goes out to you. you are an amazing woman truly making the best of a shitty situation. the reason i haven't been commenting is because i read them from my phone, which is supposed to be "smart" but in the phone world, i think it might be kind of a dumbass because it makes things really difficult when i try to comment on blogs!
ReplyDeleteyou enjoy your break! you deserve it!!
Go play them Anne like you stole them, have a break cailin......
ReplyDeleteI will miss you! take all the time you need. Sure hope to see you back!
ReplyDeletePlease come back soon, if only to post pictures of yourself stuffed inside musical instruments.
ReplyDeleteAnne, you post blogs at a rate that I couldn't dream of keeping up with. If it burns you out, maybe you should slow down on the regular posting, and spread them out more? That way you wouldn't need new content everyday or so.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that will help.
Take care.
I know what you mean! Enjoy your two days off! Heck take a week if you need to!
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought you ment shagging while playing music!
Beat those tins like Animal from the Muppets. Here's hoping you and the hubs rock out and you can decompress. Cheers, Anne.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break :)
ReplyDeleteI know how that feels. I feel kinda lazy and just want to sleep. I usually burn out at least once a month and I usually take a break to cool off.
ReplyDeleteI was going to comment on your monster looking bass drum...but then I saw your a tiny one and yes, probably could fit inside there if you tried! Enjoy your drums miss...for all us suckers who can't play em due =/
ReplyDeleteWe all get bummed once in a while
ReplyDeleteHey Anne just wanted to come back and check out your blog again. If you come back on wednesday and still don't feel into it you should give your self more time. Taking two days off blogging wasn't enough for me! And when I came back early I didn't come back at full strenth. So if, for an instant, you feel like taking more time away from blogging then do it! A week off can revitalize your spirit! Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteAnne, have you ever lived on Arrakis? If you have, can you please send me some spice.
ReplyDeletesmiles...so i hope you wore out those heads a bit...and nice boots...smiles.
